Sapphire Tour ( 05 Days/04 Nights)
Day 01 - Meet on arrival @ airport. Transfer to Hotel in Colombo. If time permits half day city tour of Colombo. Dinner & overnight stay.
Colombo
The commercial capital of Sri Lanka, with bustling bazaars, Buddhist & Hindu temples and mosques contrast with high rises, smart modern shopping malls and chain hotels is thickly populated. Sight seeing highlights include the Colombo National & Dutch period museums, old and new Parliament Houses, interesting Buddhist temples & shrines, Hindu temples, dedicated to different gods, and a short distance from Colombo the Dehiwela Zoo is located. Kelaniya Buddhist temple, one of the three places, Lord Buddha visited is also located in the immediate suburbs of the city. A 36 feet beautifully executed Buddha statue is erected opposite the BMICH.
Day 02 – After breakfast leave for Sigiriya, en-route visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage. Check in at hotel. Evening climb Sigiriya Rock. Back to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Sigiriya
A stunning rock mass known as the fortress in the sky was built in the 5th century by King Kassapa, nominated as the eighth wonder in the world is a world heritage site. Sigiriya is a masterpiece of construction, irrigation & art. The highlights are the world – famous frescoe paintings, the mirror wall, the summit of the rock, 1.5 hectares, is the site of the old palace, the throne & a swimming pool. The water gardens is restored to it's former glory & is a world heritage site.
Day 03 – After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa, city tour & in the afternoon a jeep safari to Kaudulla/Minneriya National park. If desires an elephant – back jungle safari. Evening back to hotel for dinner & overnight stay. 
Polonnaruwa
The island's medieval capital (11Cen – 12 Cen.) rose to fame, after Anuradhapura's decline. Polonnaruwa shows the interesting blend of the influence of south Indian hindu culture on the sinhala Buddhist art & architecture.
The highlights are the Siva devales, the gal vihare complex which houses four statues of Buddha carved out in living rock, lankatileke viharaya, thivanka imagehouse, alahena pirivena monastery, stone book, watadage,hatadage,kiri vehera & the giant man-made reservoir, the sea of parakrama bigger than the Colombo harbour.
Day 04 – After early breakfast leave for Kandy. En-route visit Dambulla cave temples, a spice garden. On arrival in Kandy, visit the Botanical Gardens. Check in at hotel. Late evening visit the temple of the tooth & witness a cultural dance show, back to hotel for dinner & overnight stay. 
Dambulla
A rock mass which was converted to a rock temple in the 1st century BC by King Walagambahu who took refuge. Five caves in number houses the biggest collection of Buddha statues including a colossal Buddha statue, 14 meters carved out in solid rock. Some of the paintings covering the walls & the ceilings are over 2000 years old.
Kandy – Hill Resort
The last seat of the Sinhala kings ceded power to the British in 1815 & is the most visited place in the island. Situated 488 meters above sea level, Kandy is the most popular destination for foreigners as well as for locals. It's main attraction is the Dalada Maligawa, which houses the sacred tooth relic of lord Buddha. The high light of the year is the annual perahera, held in July/august every year, when a replica of the relic casket is taken in procession for ten glittering nights accompanied by exotically costumed dancers, drummers & over 100 elephants. There are numerous shrines & temples in and around Kandy with rare paintings, frescoes & stone carvings. Visit the royal botanical gardens at peradeniya, which houses over 4000 species of plants.
Kandy is an exciting place for shopping, with souvenirs in ebony, silver, brass, bronze, lacquer works, handlooms, gemstones & batiks.
Day 05 – After breakfast, shopping & leave for airport to connect departure flight. (Airport check in: prior to 03 hrs prior to departure)
